The Catchmen
In August 1991, when The Catchmen performed at Manchester Boardwalk, their warm-up act, fronted by the Gallaghers, was making its first public appearance. While Oasis went on to become global superstars, success did not follow for The Catchmen. Skip forward all the way to 2024, they reformed to finally record an album, an homage to the band members' hometown of Stockport, entitled ‘Stockport Syndrome’.
By 2026, they were ready to "realise the sound they had always envisioned" with their second album, ‘Indoor Weather’. I was tasked with creating a visual representation for this new album, which explores various types of relationships. To capture the essence of the title, I considered several ideas for visuals and ultimately arrived at the concept of a snow globe. This imagery emulates the ups and downs of relationships, with different types of weather symbolising these experiences. I also felt I could easily incorporate various band members within this concept.
Due to budget constraints and time limitations that restricted the use of modelling, I turned to AI for assistance. However, I made an effort to create an impression of something organic and handmade, with a delicate nature that mirrors the fragility of relationships.
Artwork was produced for the vinyl LP along with the CD and the lead single from the album ‘England’, again using the snowglobe concept. Listen to the album here on Spotify.
